According to the beliefs of four religions – Hinduism, Buddhism, Bon, and Jainism – in Tibet on Mount Kailas live their main gods. There are legends that the Great Teachers – Jesus, Buddha, Krishna, Zarathustra, Confucius – were in the “sarcophagus” of Kailas in a state of deep meditation (samadhi). On this journey we will make a kora (kora is ritual circumambulation) around a shrine, the most powerful place on our planet, a place where all spiritual seekers have sought to go in order to gain intimate knowledge of Man and his possibilities, to have a mystical experience.Kailas is believed to be one of the major occult places on earth that accelerates human spiritual development and facilitates connection with conscious beings.<\/p> \n \n

On this trip, the circumambulation of Mount Kailas falls on the biggest Buddhist festival of Sagadava on June 11, 2025 – Full Moon. <\/strong><\/p> \n

We will spend one extra day besides the bark at the sacred Mount Kailas, at its North Face. We will meditate with a view of the North Face of Kailas, go to the nearest active monastery. <\/p> \n \n

Another feature of this journey to Kailas is the opportunity to see the South Face of Kailas up close and to visit the place where the inner bark, the Nandi bark, begins<\/strong>. The inner bark is the circumambulation of Mount Nandi adjacent to the South Face of Kailas. Buddhists and Hindus only do the inner kora if they have previously undergone the 13 outer koras. In addition, the route of the inner crust is technically difficult, some sections are very steep, slippery, the danger of rockfalls is not excluded. This may be why access to the inner crust is now closed by the Tibetan authorities. On our trip, we will organize a jeep ride to the South Face of Kailas after passing the outer crust for those who wish to do so!<\/strong> This is another additional opportunity to be in the energies of Mt. Another “highlight” of this trip is. visit to Everest Base Camp. You will see the highest mountain of our planet (8848 meters)! Mount Everest<\/strong> is called “Jomolungma” <\/strong>in Tibet, which translates to “Mother of the Universe”. You will see this mountain from the side of the North Base Camp at about 5100 meters above sea level.<\/p> \n \n

    About the peculiarities of the route and organization<\/strong><\/p> \n \n

    Tibet is high in the mountains. The most important point in such a program is competent acclimatization<\/strong>, which, in our experience, should take place in comfortable conditions. We arrive at the airport in Lhasa and immediately transfer to Tsedang, a town about 1.5 hours from the capital. This allows for a gentle acclimatization as Tsedang is located at an altitude of 3100 meters, which is lower than Tibet’s capital Lhasa, located at an altitude of 3650 meters. We spend 1 night in Tsedang, visit the very first Buddhist monastery in Tibet, Samye, and transfer to Lhasa. There we rest and visit local monasteries and temples as well as the Potala Palace, the historical residence of the Dalai Lam. Then we gradually gain altitude and with stops and excursions we reach Everest Base Camp at 5150 meters. After such a high point on the way, the altitude on the route decreases again and then we reach Dharkhen (4570m), a town located at the foot of Mount Kailas. Here we overnight and spend one day visiting the sacred lakes of Manasarovar and Rakshastal. This not only allows you to acclimatize better, but also to attune with the place of strength, meditate on the lake overlooking Mount Kailas, and tune in for the 4-day mountain circumambulation (kora).<\/p> \n \n

    The bark around Mount Kailash is a hike of moderate difficulty that is accessible to many people with good physical fitness and prior preparation. <\/strong>It’s not mountaineering, but you will need to walk at altitude for a long time. The trek starts from Darchen settlement at an altitude of 4576m. The highest point of our route is 5669m. Then the altitude decreases.<\/p> \n \n

    For good health in Tibet, in addition to competent climbing and drinking plenty of water, it is important not to overcool yourself and to eat well. Therefore, we do not save on accommodation, and stay in good hotels 4 * and 3 *<\/strong>, where there must be hot water in the showers and heating (air conditioners work on heating). The hotel in Lhasa receives a doctor<\/strong> at any time who can measure your blood pressure, pulse, blood oxygen levels and help you with “mountain sickness” if necessary.<\/p> \n \n

    Ascesis time will come, it’s also part of the program – 4 days of hiking the pilgrim trail around Mount Kailas at high altitude, without showers and in hostels. But by the beginning of the bark around Mount Kailas, you must be healthy and strong enough to make the journey you have come for.<\/p> \n \n

    Yes, you also don’t have to carry all your stuff behind you during the hike. Your belongings will be carried by porters (porters) or yaks.<\/strong><\/p> \n \n
