On this tour you will visit the sacred sites of Nepal and Bhutan! These are two amazing little countries located in the Himalayas. In Bhutan you will visit two Tsechu festivals! <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Bhutan is a mysterious kingdom in which we will see the phenomenon of a country untouched by the achievements of modern civilization. Limited access to the country for tourists and its isolation from the outside world allows it to maintain its national identity and authenticity, not for nothing it is called the “Last Shangri-La. Bhutan is the last place on the planet where nature and wildlife remain pure and unspoiled, people are simple and open. People there wear national costumes, and until a few years ago there was no television or radio in Bhutan. The Tibetan culture is preserved here in its purest form. This is the land of Buddhism, purity and enlightenment.<\/p>\n\n

Bhutan is often rated as the happiest country in the world,<\/strong> and the economy here is not measured by Gross Domestic Product (GDP) but by Gross National Happiness.<\/p>\n\n

The doors to this marvelous realm were not opened until 1974. It is still forbidden to travel to Bhutan on your own, and you can only get here by buying a tour.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Bhutan is an expensive country because a government tax of $200 per day per person is collected from each tourist for each day of stay. In this way the government regulates the number of tourists and preserves the identity and purity of this country.<\/p>\n\n

In Bhutan you will visit Bhutan’s sacred places: the magnificent Punakha Dzong, the ancient pilgrimage site of Kichu Lhakang, and, of course, the famous Paro Taksang (Tigress’ Nest).<\/p>\n\n

We will visit the vibrant festivals of Timhu Tsechu<\/strong> and Gangtei Tsechu!<\/strong> This is a festival in honor of Guru Rinpoche, a great teacher who contributed greatly to the spread of Tantric Buddhism in the Himalayas (Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan) in the 8th century. Tsechu is held in different parts of the country – once a year.<\/em><\/p>\n\n

We will spend one night in a Bhutanese farmhouse. This will give us the opportunity to learn more about Bhutanese culture, everyday life and cuisine.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

In Nepal you will see the Ancient Stupas of the Kathmandu Valley, little-known monasteries and temples, visit distinctive cities of artisans and participate in pujas.<\/p>\n\n
