Journey to the Gurus: Mount Arunachala – the incarnation of the god Shiva, Temples of Power of the five elements, ashrams of sages and Auroville
This tour is not just a trip, but a profound spiritual journey connecting the ancient wisdom of South India, the sacred mountain of Arunachal and the living centers of spiritual power – the ashrams of Sri Aurobindo and Ramana Maharshi .
You can experience the five primary elements – Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether – while visiting the sacred Shiva temples, each symbolizing one of the elements. These places of power help to restore inner balance and purify the mind and heart.
Why this tour is special:
– You will visit the place of power Mount Arunachala. It is believed to be an incarnation of Shiva, who took the form of a hill-pillar of fire to end the dispute between Brahma and Vishnu. This mountain is older than the Himalayas. Many sages and saints, among them Ramana Maharshi, considered it a place for spiritual enlightenment and spent much of their lives there.
– You will touch the atmosphere of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Pondicherry, a place where spirituality becomes part of life. There is a special silence in the ashram – it does not require effort, but is simply present. Here one can feel the energy of peace, clarity and love.
– You will visit Auroville and feel the energy of Matrimandir – the heart of Auroville, the symbol of the inner sun and the unity of humanity. Auroville is not just a city, but a living spiritual experiment created by the Mother (Mirra Alfassa), an associate of Sri Aurobindo. Auroville was conceived as a city belonging not to a nation but to humanity. Here live people from dozens of countries, representing different cultures, languages and religions, but united by a common goal – to develop consciousness and build a society based not on competition, but on cooperation and inner harmony.
– Spend time at the Ramana Maharshi Ashram at the foot of the sacred mountain Arunachala, a place of deep silence where you can touch the living presence of the Guru and practice “Who am I?”. Ramana Maharshi’s Ashram at Tiruvannamalai is one of the deepest and truly sacred places in India. It is located at the foot of the sacred mountain Arunachala, which Maharshi himself called the embodiment of Shiva. There are no rituals, no imposed forms – only a pure space of awareness in which one can see one’s true nature.
– Visit the Balaji Wish Fulfillment Temple located in Tirupati. It is one of the most revered places where millions of pilgrims visit every year. The temple stands at an altitude of about 850 meters, on one of the seven sacred peaks. Balaji is known as a deity who grants sincere wishes, and the rituals and ancient atmosphere create a sense of spiritual power
– Visit five Shiva temples, each representing one of the elements – Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether. These temples are not only architectural masterpieces, but also ancient energy centers that harmonize the body, senses and consciousness. In South India there is a special tradition – the worship of the five great temples of Shiva, each of which corresponds to one of the primary elements of the universe: Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether. Together they form a sacred circle known as Panchabhuta Sthalam – “the five places of the elements” Earth gives support, Water purifies, Fire awakens, Air liberates, Aether reveals stillness.
