Tibet – Roof of the World. Dawn at Everest with Vladimir Poda and Elena Sitnikova. 9 days.

Tibet is rightly considered to be the highest altitude state above 3,500 meters above sea level.

Higher only are the stars, whose light embraces with golden-silver radiance the purity and nobility of the Land of Snows – the Roof of the World.

A tiny territory of a small part of the Himalayan mountain system, with extremely scanty vegetation, eternal snows on the tops of seven-hundred-foot mountains, willed by fate to become the guardian of Jomolungma – the Mother of the Universe. Now this mountain is called Everest.

It is the highest mountain in the world at 8848 meters! Many people dream to see Everest. On this trip your dream will come true – you will be near Everest Base Camp, where climbers start their ascent, at an altitude of about 5050 meters. From here you will have a stunning view of the North Face of the mountain. You will see Everest in the rays of the setting sun and in the morning in the first rays of dawn.

To see Everest you don’t have to be trained and go trekking. Everyone can visit Everest with us, and this program is just for those who are not ready for trekking this time.

Побывать на Эвересте с нами доступно каждому

Apart from Everest, we have included in this itinerary a visit to the most significant places in Tibet:

From Lhasa you will drive on one of the most scenic roads in the world – through sandy and snowy mountains, see the Karola Glacier, high mountain lakes and rivers, Tibetan yaks and mastiffs.

On this tour, you will have the opportunity to see an incredibly beautiful evening costume outdoor show “Princess Wencheng” about the love of real historical characters – Tibetan king Songtsen Gampo and Chinese princess Wencheng, who lived in the 7th century AD.

Day 2

June 2, 2025, Monday. Visit to Samye, the first Buddhist monastery in Tibet

Samye Monastery is the first and oldest Buddhist monastery in Tibet. It was founded by the legendary Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava). Samye Monastery is located on the northern bank of the Brahmaputra River. Built in the form of a mandala, it is the only structure of its kind in Tibet. In “A Short Biography of Padmasambhava” about Samye Monastery it says: “It was erected as a symbol of Mount Sumeru, surrounded by four large continents and eight small ones, the sun and the moon, and a wall of iron mountains”. The monastery has preserved relics related to Padmasambhava. During the founding of Samye Monastery, at the request of King Trisong Decena, Padmasambhava opened the mandala of Vajrayana teachings at the Chimpu Caves to 25 disciples, nine of whom attained siddhis through the sadhana practices he imparted to them.

Mount Chimpu rises above the monastery and is home to many retreat caves and hermit huts. Even in our days, practitioners continue to hold retreats there.

We will visit Samye Monastery, and if we are lucky – we will participate in a Buddhist puja (service) in the oldest monastery in Tibet, and receive a blessing from the Lama.

It will be possible to walk uphill to the caves, which offer scenic views of the valley. Here you can feel the spirit of Tibet, the antiquity of this land and its sacredness. Through contact with the outer silence, experience the silence of the inner silence.

Day 3
June 3, 2025, Tuesday. Lhasa Attractions. Potala Palace, Jokang Temple.

Visit to the most sacred temple of Lhasa – Jokang (17th century). Pilgrims from all over Tibet come here to worship the sacred statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, brought to Lhasa in the 10th century. This is the very first statue of Buddha (Jowo Shakyamuni), which is 2500 years old. It was consecrated by the Buddha himself.

The temple has 14 separate prayer rooms dedicated to Tsongkhapa, the founder of the Gelugpa school, Avalokiteshvara (one of the main manifestations of Buddha), and the famous teacher (guru) Lama Rinpoche. Pilgrims stretch out in front of Jokang Temple.

Miracles happen in this temple! The Buddha statue heals people and fulfills innermost wishes. Dr. Myasnikov shared the story of his life after visiting the Temple: “While visiting the temple, my wife put a little money in front of the Buddha and asked for health and good luck for her son. The next morning (!!!!) she calls me and silently shows me her leg. The ulcers had all healed overnight! I am well aware that this just can’t happen! And when in 2 weeks we landed in Moscow, and my son still on the plane turned on his phone, the first e-mail was from the Sorbonne: “we have fallen out of one of the applicants, and you are next in line. We’ve accepted you!”.

The history of this Center dates back to 1916, when it was an educational institution where doctors and astronomers studied. Later it also began to treat people and make medicines.

In addition to the Tibetan people’s own experience, the development of Tibetan traditional medical science is closely related to Chinese and Indian traditional medical science. The basic diagnostic methods used by Tibetan doctors today are almost the same as those used in traditional Chinese medicine. In the 7th century, when Princess Wencheng came to Tibet from China, she brought Chinese medical books and Chinese doctors to the Tibetan people. In the 8th century, the famous Tibetan physician Yutok Yonten Gonpo traveled to India to study Indian medicine. This knowledge greatly accelerated the development of Tibetan medical science. This physician learned much from Chinese and Indian traditional medicine and incorporated his knowledge into the system of Tibetan medicine.
